Hi there,
My name is John and I plan to start on a new project using Jot Form
I want to create an inventory management system for my company
This would be mainly the Food found in the pantry (kitchen) / eatables (packaged) items in the kitchen
Please let me know if what I wish can be done by Jot Form.
Step 1 – Fred goes to the market and buys 10 Snickers bars of chocolate.
Step 2 - Fred uses an app to scan the Chocolate bar – I mean a barcode scanner app to scan the barcode behind the Snicker bar’s wrapper. Will the barcode scanner widget work for this?
Step 3 – When he scans it, the entry is entered in the database. He does that for all the other 9 snicker bars and the inventory would show 10 in total
Step 4 – When Fred needs one – he scans it again and this takes off 1 from the 10 in the inventory and now the inventory reads 9 snicker bar
Step 5 – When the quantity of Snicker bars goes down to 2 – the system will shoot out an email to Fred asking to stock more
Please let me know if this can be done. I need to be clear so that I can start my work
Appreciate your help on this

Do you mean you want to scan the barcode of the products in the market and put it in the form? If so, unfortunately, we don't have a bar code scanner widget that will let you scan barcodes and put it on the form.
However, we have a QR code reader widget where you can use if it is fine for you.
When Fred needs one – he scans it again and this takes off 1 from the 10 in the inventory and now the inventory reads 9 snicker bar. When the quantity of Snicker bars goes down to 2 – the system will shoot out an email to Fred asking to stock more.
I think this is not possible to be accomplished using the form. After the QR code scanned and the form was submitted, there will be an entry submitted in the Submission page and as well as a notification email will be received but it will not notify that the quantity of the product goes down to a number.
