Special characters like the Scandinavian ( Æ, Ø and Å) allowed in text fields, but not in the report.

Problem for some users (not all) when they fill in text fields  (Explorer 8 on Windows XP):
The text fields look fine when they fill in the form with special characters.
After the form is submitted, the problem starts:
Special characters do not show up in the report, and they do not appear in the report/receipt  to the user.

Also in textfields where the user can pick an answer from roll down list,  special letters will show up correctly when entered, but  Æ Ø Å  are omitted or appear as korean (?) symbols in the reports.

For instance: "Østmarka skole" shows up as:

    سtmarka skole

In the report it shows up as:
    stmarka skole

I see that German and Turkish programmers report similar problems.
I regard this as a serious problem.  We will loose data and not look professional if this is not solved.

Do you know why this happens?  Is there is a way around this?

    Best regards
    SRF, Norway
