How to create a one time discount code or alternate first month payment?

Asked by vishnunath on July 12, 2012 at 07:48 PM

We'd like to offer a discount on the first month's subscription by either allowing them to enter a discount code or preferrably automatic.  The issue is I see the "first month" option in the authorize.net subscription wizard, however it looks like it takes the normal price (say $49) and adds a setup fee on top of that.  In our case we just want to specify a different (less) price of $25 for the first month, then $49 for every month thereafter.  Any way to do this?

The first payment amount will be taken as the setup fee+first month, which is ussually more. But you can set it up in the way you describe before

    It will look like this:

Regarding to the discount code, this is a feature already requested by some users and probably it will be implemented in the future

Should you need more assistance, let us know

So if i set it up like above, for the first month the customer would be
charged a TOTAL of $25, for month 2 and onwards they would pay $49?

    Your assumption is totally correct.

Go ahead and create your payment integration in that way

Feel free to ask for more help whenever you need it

    Cheers!
