Form info not saved / IE Upload Problem

Asked by Forthenvironmentlink on July 16, 2012 at 11:48 AM

    Hello,

I got a call this afternoon from an applicant who has had problems with the online application today.  She had spent about 3 hours doing the application, saving as she went along... when she tried to submit she got a message saying the file was too big.  She went back through the application, and none of the information was there...

How could we retrieve her info?

I have tested my form many times and it was always saving the form. My form id is 21302328285346

(I thought the file won't upload if it;s too big and wouldn't let her go to the next page!)

    Many thanks

    Amparo

    Thank you for contacting us.

I am very sorry to inform you, but there is no way to restore mentioned data.

I have tried to reproduce the problem on my test form with page breaks and upload elements, but I was not able to do so. We need to reproduce the problem in order to forward it to our Development Team.

(I thought the file won't upload if it;s too big and wouldn't let her go to the next page!)

This is right for all the modern browsers except IE. As far as I know, IE does not support FILE API, so that we can not check file atributes in real time and show mentioned warning.

However, we do show that warning upon form submission along with the Back button in IE.

You may suggest your user to use some other browser like Google Chrome, Firefox, Sarafi or Opera.

If you need any further assistance, please let us know.

    Hello,

I have posted another problem today related to this problem. One of the applicants ( say applicant 2 - who has registered twice, not sure if that caused the problem) received an autoresponder that I had set up so they could see their application whenever they wanted and submit any time, had been linked to this "lost Application" (say applicant 1). Basically, applicant 2 received an autoemailer link to applicant's 1 application

I am worried as they post personal data that should only be seen by me...

    Can you help?

    Thanks
