Dear Jotformers,
first: I love Jotform, it's really a great tool and great value!
Recently, I noticed what I believe to be an error:
I ve created several forms with hidden fields and have been using them for 2+ years. However, today I tested those forms on browserstack.com and it seems that on some platforms (e.g. Iphone 5s) the hidden fields in my form are visible.
I attached a screenshot of that phenomenon: The form is at the bottom of the page and the fields containing three (random) letters each ("YFW", "AUQ" etc.) are visible. On other platforms or in other browsers (e.g. Chrome on Windows 8.1) this error does not occur, i.e. those fields are properly hidden.
Please let me know, if you are aware how to fix that problem.
Regards,
Michael

Hi,
Apologies for the inconvenience.
I see that the fields you are referring to that show up in the iPhone device are Random Value Generator widgets.
Upon cloning and checking the form, those fields are not really hidden, instead their width and height are set to "0" which makes them disappear in the live preview. However, the form is mobile responsive, which means the field's width and height adjust based on the device layout where it is being viewed, in the case of mobile devices, the width and height suddenly has values which is why they are shown.
Here's how you can resolve the issue.
1. First, make sure that each of the widgets have a width and height value, in my case, I set it to "50".
2. In the same properties window, navigate to the "Advanced" tab and enable the "Hide Field" option. This is the option to hide fields.
3. After that, this is how it looks like, you can see that my Random Value Generator widgets are showing in the form builder, but they are grayed out which means they are hidden in live preview.
4. If you click on them, you should also see a message confirming that it is hidden.
That should resolve the issue.
Let us know if that works.
