    Square Up payment error message: Card was declined.

    I created an order form on this site:


    the order is fine, but when I try to pay for the items, it tells me that the card was declined (i tried two different cards)

    This is a site that functions in Japan, and needs to take Japanese postal codes.

    Could that be the issue? If you can help me solve it, that would be great.


    Also, this form has the mobile resize widget embedded, but when it is any bigger the form is squished and all the content is hidden.

    Please help me resolve both issues.

    Hello MaiyaW,

    I did check your form and you have configured your "Square Payment" tool correctly. I am not sure why the credit card payment was declined. Can you please use some other credit card and see if you are able to make payment? I am unable to test your form since it requires valid credit card to complete the transaction. 

    If your form is not live yet, can you please enable the "Mode" to test mode so that we can test your form? Please check the screenshot below on how to enable test mode:

    OK, i will format it to test mode.
    do I need to update my website or can you test it through jotform?

    I've run a test of this on my end but, the form seemed to submit the transaction properly for me.

    There was nothing wrong with your card when you tested this on your end correct? 

    You don't have to update your website when you switch the mode. 

    Just try your card again with it in test mode and let us know if there is still a problem.

    Also, your location should be fine. I checked and Japan is supported by Square.
