Grid report: Possible implementation of filters

Could the filtering options that are available via the Visual Report builder be made available for Grid Reports? I have a need to be able to provide data that is filtered in particular ways to different people and so would create a filtered version of the report for each of them.

The Visual Reports builder is almost totally useless and so I cannot use that to meet my needs. The grid reports are excellent but I cannot show all of the records to all of the people.

    Thanks,

    Stuart

Unfortunately, grid report can not be filtered for specific fields, you can only choose which fields will be shown in the report and that's done when you're creating the report (I'm sure you're aware of it):Grid report: Possible implementation of filters Image 1 Screenshot 20

I'm not sure what is the specific need for your reports if you could give us more information maybe we could find a workaround.

    We'll wait for your response.

    Thank you!

    Hi,

Yes - aware that I can adjust what columns are presented but I need a way to control what rows are presented. For example:

I have a form that captures feedback on training sessions. The user selects the name of their trainer from a dropdown list when they complete their evaluation. I want to be able to share the results of the evaluation with each individual trainer (and not have them be able to see the feedback received from other trainers). If filters were an option in the like of Grid reports then I would create a separate report for each trainer (and probably also add in a filter that shows only results from the last year/month).

The Visual Reports builder would allow me to do this but the results look awful as the data that I want to share is mainly the text responses (which look great in the grid report). Adding a grid report to the Visual Report is useless.

The workaround just now is to download the excel version of the report and filter out the information that I want to share for each of the trainers (there are a lot!) and then send that on to them by email. This seems like an unnecessary waste of time.

    Any advice?

    Thanks,

    Stuart

    Thank you for additional explanation.

I understand the problem and need for such feature.

What else you could do is to create conditional emails that will go to each of your trainers when their name is selected.  Here is a guide about that: https://www.jotform.com/help/167-How-to-Send-Email-Based-on-User-s-Answer

So each email will go independently and trainers will not be able to see other trainer's email.

Maybe that could work for you better?

We can assist you with implementation if you need.

If that doesn't work for you, we could forward this as a possible feature request to our backend team.

    We'll wait for your response.

    Thank you!

Hi - Thanks for your suggestion. We do use that type of functionality for some forms but that gives the trainer a whole lot of individual responses whereas we need/want them to be able to see a summary view of ALL their data collected in one place.

If you can forward this as a feature request that would be great. I think it would be a really useful addition.

    I understand.

I will forward this to our backend team for a possible implementation.

Once/If the feature is implemented we will notify you through this thread.

    Thank you!
