How to enforce user to input in predefined format?

Asked by Valueserv on May 17, 2017 at 03:34 AM

I have inserted a number widget in my form. I want the client to type in their ID number that has 13 digits example: 5805103451097 but only limit them to enter 13 digits and no more.

    Hello Valueserv,

Yes it is possible to achieve your requirement. You need to add a textbox / Short Text Entry field instead of number field.  You can set the "Input Mask" ON and set it to accept number and match the format. Please check the screenshot below:

You may like to take a look at the following guide which should help you:  https://www.jotform.com/help/381-Getting-Started-with-the-basics-of-Input-Masking

    Hope this helps.

Do get back to us if you have any questions.

    Thank you!
