Can I extend the character length allowed on a hidden field?

Asked by BurwellBash on January 13, 2011 at 07:43 AM

    Hello,

I am trying to extend the character lengh of a default entry on a hidden field to allow a formula to be pulled through to excel, at the moment I am only able to get the first 8 characters.

    Thank you

There is no such limit. I looked at the form on your site. The problem is that you are using double quotes "" on your formula. That does not work with hidden field because hidden fields are like this:

    input type="hidden" name="name" value="value"

So, if you have a double quote what happens is that it is cut from that point

input type="hidden" name="name" value="my values include " in my formula"

The browser simply ignores the red part.

So, you should not use double quotes on the default value. You can use single quote instead.
