I see that PPT files are not in the 'allowed' file type for an attachment. Is there a reason for this?

To be able to upload powerpoint, you should include powerpoint file extensions on your file upload tool which are "ppt" and "pptx".
Please add the "File Upload" element to your form then click on the "Properties" button. Under the "Options" tab, please add ppt, pptx extensions as file types. Please don't forget to separate each file types with a comma. Also, if you want to allow all file types, you can just write * in the "file types" field.
I hope it helps.
