I need to collect urls for our clients employee social networks, we do not want to set a limit as some url's can be quite long. Can this be done?

By default, the Max Size (actually, the character limit - I've always felt that button was incorrectly labeled but that's another matter) for text boxes is set to 0, meaning that there's no limit but my understanding is that textboxes (in general - not just JotForm's) can contain no more than 256 characters. I'll run some tests, just to confirm that though.
In the interim, consider substituting a single rowed text area for each textbox for which you wish to remove the limit:

Actually, I was able to enter 300 characters into a text box and they were successfully submitted to both my inbox and the form's records. Have you tried just clicking the text boxes then changing the Max Size value to zero, as shown in my last reply?
