The translation field doesn't show up for me. Can jotform please help me out? I enabled and selected the language but nothing happens...don't see the translation fields appear...

To have the option to switch between languages requires more than one language in the form.  If you do have one default and one additional language and the language selection button is not present, let us know the form you are working on and we will be happy to have a look.

Thanks, that is really confusing because the user assumes that the original language which they are using is already recognized. Perhaps you should include this in the documentation. It doesn't really make sense to have to add "English" if the form is already in English.

Also, since I had to add "English" as a translated language, there are 2 English options and one Spanish option in the drop down field in the top right of the form now. This doesn't make sense.

Now that I have two languages in the Translations area, I cannot translate the Spanish option, only the English (which doesn't need to be translated as the form is already in English). Shouldn't there be an option to select a Primary Language then edit the other one? Right now, I can only translate the English which is redundant. How can I change this?

As I can understand, you would like to get the current language to be automatically recognized so you only add the other language. If this is correct, then we could open a feature request for that, but I would suggest you to open a new thread so we can properly escalate it.

Also, since I had to add "English" as a translated language, there are 2 English options and one Spanish option in the drop down field in the top right of the form now. This doesn't make sense.

Do note that you may get more than one result, this is based on the language used on different regions, for example, you will get this list if you type English:

Do note that you can set a language as primary, you will find the option beside the language:

You may not be able to edit the Spanish language since it may be the default, I would suggest you to remove the languages and then add first English since it will be the default and then add Spanish, this way you will be able to edit Spanish and English will be the primary.

If you have any question, let us know.

Thanks but when I set Spanish as primary, I can't "edit texts." That options only stays on the English (US) option so essentially I'm only being allowed to translate English to English.

That's because you first added Spanish, please delete the current languages you have in your form:

Once deleted you will need to add the languages again, first the language the form is written in and then the languages you need to form to be translated to. We could also help you deleting the current languages if you want, just share us the form you're currently working on, we will be glad to help.
