I have a jotform that does the following:
- Registers families for camp and gathers generic information per family such as family address/phone number/which of the 3 accommodations they wish to stay in, etc.
- Registers each child in each family and gathers specific information per each child, such as what instrument they play, what music piece they play, can they read music, etc.
I have not tried it yet, but what I guess when I export the jotform data to xls (Excel) I will get a spreadsheet that contains columns for all the entered information and one row for the one registration?
What I need is an Excel spreadsheet that contains one row for each kid that is registered and all the same family data (address/phone number/accommodation/etc) can be repeated for each kid in the family.
Any suggestions on the best way to create the xls to achieve what I need? I am hoping to not need to split this into 2 different jotforms: one for generic info (filled out once per family) and once for student specific info (filled out one per kid). It is easier for parents if they only go to one jotform. (But maybe it is possible to embed a form within a form?)
In any case, please let me know what options I have to create the xls we need. (As we need to have an xls where we can sort on instruments or sort on reading level, etc... and so need 1 kid per row.)

When exporting form data each column is populated with a form field in the order the fields are in the form. Each submission will be on its own row with the field data populated into each column. If you need one kid per row, you would need one submission per child.
This is essentially the same format in which the data is stored in your JotForm account:
