Why does the code behind the hide rule show the first partial row of a collapsed section?

Asked by David on July 27, 2012 at 09:37 PM

When I used the Form Collapse from the Survey Tools and add a rule to hide it based on other field the collpase/expand bar itself is hidden but about 2/3 of the first row within that section is shown.

If I add a text buffer immediately before AND after the Form Collapse then this goes away but this is a workaround only.

    Hi David

Someone else had asked about this regarding one of their forms and after running some tests, I told them that a condition must be set to hide not only the form collapse element but also each field within it. However, upon cloning your form, I see that it's indeed just the first few fields that exhibit the issue.

Only now that you've mentioned it, has it become obvious to me that any condition set on a form collapse element should cascade down to all the fields below it up to the next form collapse. I'll submit a ticket to get the issue rectified. In the meantime, your workaround (it's a pretty good one) would have to suffice.
