The Textarea Autosize Widget is not displaying in the embedded form

Asked by 87Discount on June 20, 2017 at 03:48 PM

I downloaded the code for my form and when I ran the html file in chrome the textarea autosize widgets did not display. In their place was a grey box that on hover displayed the text "it may have been moved or deleted". This was with the most recent version of chrome. I was wondering if jotform support could help me get to the bottom of whats happening here.

From how you coined the term "downloaded the code", I'm assuming you used the form's Full Source Code.

Can you share with us the URL of the page where you embedded the form so we can properly check it?

Forget for a moment the part of the question title that says embedded form its not embedded anywhere yet. I guess I was half asleep when I made the title. So after I clicked the the link that says "Download the source code" and I extracted the files from the zip, i ran the html file in a browser, for what its worth the widget did not display in both firefox or chrome. Here is a screen shot of what happened. The big empty spaces have the widget are supposed to have the widget in them.

What you did above is not the way the form was supposed to be used once you download the full source code. If you need to run it locally on your machine, you need to at least host it locally on an actual server (not by opening the html file on its own).

If you will be downloading the source code, you either have to re-upload everything and host it online, or host it offline on an actual localhost server.

Regardless, the quickest way to test if your form works as intended or not is to visit its direct link.
