    Increase unique ID by 7

    Asked by ashdav on August 04, 2012 at 12:42 PM

    Hi,

    I'm looking to increase the Unique ID of all form submissions by 7.

    This doesn't seem to be changable through the item properties. Can this be done through the code?

      <input type="hidden" id="simple_spc" name="simple_spc" value="21918790763868" />
      <script type="text/javascript">
      document.getElementById("si" + "mple" + "_spc").value = "21918790763868-21918790763868";
      </script>
      <input type="hidden" class="form-hidden" value="136" id="input_22" name="q22_contactId" />

    Any help appreciated! Thanks in advance :)

    Hello Ash.  If you mean that for example you wish for the current index to start at 7, then you can set the current index at 6 so that the next submission you'll receive will start at 7.

    You can set this at the tool bar on top after selecting the form element.

    If this is not what you mean, please do explain your issue further.

    Thanks.

    Thanks liyam,

    I'm actually looking for each number to increase by 7, so the first ID may be 5327 and the next may be 5334, then 5341 etc. Having this interval will tie everything with our other systems.

    Thanks,

    Ash

    Hi Ash

    Thanks for clearing that up because initially I thought you meant that you wanted to automatically increase all of the custom IDs in the current submissions by 7. In other words,

    tablo1
    tablo2
    tablo3...

    becomes

    tablo8
    tablo9
    tablo10...

    I now see that you actually want a way to increment the IDs by 7 instead of 1 (as illustrated here) so that

    tablo1
    tablo2
    tablo3...

    becomes

    tablo1
    tablo8
    tablo15...

    Unfortunately, this can neither be done in the form builder nor by editing a copy of the form's source. It requires access to the database which users don't have. However, I'll submit a ticket requesting that an Increment Value button be added the customized unique ID toolbar.

    Hi. Unique ID still doesnt work on any of my forms. How come it does on yours?

    I set to have it starting form 3000, and it gives me always numbers like 20329302930293029.

    I heard that this should be fixed last month. Nothing happend.

    Hi,

    I'm just wondering if any progress has been made with an increment value, or if there's any solution presently available (via your form builder or via editing the source code)

    It's something we really need at this point so if it's not currently possible (or something that will be added soon) then we may look at custom building out form.

    Thanks,
    Ash
