i have underwriters in one location, who i would like to fill in customer info on a form i am creating. Save it, then somehow email it to the location the customer is at, have a sales person bring it up and then hand to a customer on a tablet to complete, already containing personal information.

    Hello keith583,

Yes it is possible to achieve your requirement by taking advantage of our feature to save input data of form in session on our server. User can save the input data in session that is stored in our server. Please be noted that this feature requires two forms and the main form should have the "Page Break" field. The form field data is saved in session only on the click of the next button. You may like to take a look at the following guide which should help you:  https://www.jotform.com/help/97-How-to-Save-Forms-and-Continue-Later

    Hope this helps.

Do try it out and get back to us if you have any questions.

    Thank you!

okay. so i was generally able to make it work. but the information i filled out on the first form, is not populating to the second form. i must be doing something wrong,

Clone of Auto city closing wide screen is the first form that i want underwriting to fill out.

then i want a sales person at a remote location to be able to click on the link in the email generated and continue filling out the form:

all i can seem to get to autopopulate into the continued form is the email address. can someone not fill out the first page of a form and then then continue the rest later? if all that carries over is the email address, how is that considered, SAVING anything. its more like saving the form URL so you can start the whole form over again. which is clearly useless.

I believe something like an approval workflow would work for what you are looking for.  Please see the following thread for an example:

    https://www.jotform.com/answers/853147

Or if you simply need to allow the same user to update their submission data at a later time, here is how to set that up:

    https://www.jotform.com/help/40-How-to-Let-Users-Update-Their-Form-Submissions-at-a-Later-Date

The second setup would likely be enough if you want to fill out the first page of a form then send that to another address to complete.

well the second way is way cleaner and easier, however, it would mean that i could not have any required fields, after the point that i insert the submit button, correct? which is a big problem. the first page contains information about the customer and the vehicle they are purchasing. i don't want the customer to have to enter all that, and i don't trust the sales person to do it properly before handing the customer the tablet to continue. the underwriting department needs to fill in that first page, the sales person pulls it up on the tablet, hands it to the customer to continue the process

i guess i could set up one giant CONDITION whereby everything after a certain point does not show unless what the SUBMIT BUTTON IS PUSHED? is that an option? but as soon as i hit submit, it will bring up the rest of the form, or could i set the condition to something after the submit button that is not required until the edit?

I guess i could set up one giant CONDITION whereby everything after a certain point does not show unless what the SUBMIT BUTTON IS PUSHED?

Unfortunately, that wouldn't work since you can not set a condition based on if the submit button is pushed or not.

If I understood your workflow, maybe a solution would be that your underwriting department fill the first page, and I mean actually, to create the Prepopulate URL that they can just send to the Sales person. Then Sales person can simply click the link and hand it to the customer. The form will open with prefilled data.

    1) We have this prepopulate application, that is very easy to use: http://prepopulate.jotform.io/

    2) You fill the fields that you need to be prepopulated and create a URL, for example for my test form: https://form.jotform.com/71837453159969 I created this URL: https://form.jotformpro.com/71837453159969?name[first]=nik&name[last]=nik&email=nick%40jotform.com&phoneNumber[area]=123&phoneNumber[phone]=123123&address[addr_line1]=some%20street&address[city]=Miami&address[state]=FL&address[postal]=33331&time[ampm]=PM, but the link is shortened as well: https://goo.gl/8Lwc34.

So it's easy to share such link.

More about that feature you can find here: https://www.jotform.com/help/71-Prepopulating-Fields-to-Your-JotForm-via-URL-Parameters

Could that option work for you by any chance?

    Please let us know.

    Thank you!

FRICKEN AWESOME!!!!!!! THAT WORKS GREAT. only problem is there doesn't seem to be any way to keep track of the generated URLs without copying and pasting them into a log of some kind. and there is nothing in the url that identifies which customer it belongs to

Yes, unfortunately, there is not a way to track the generated links; however, you may implement both solutions, create the pre-populated link and still have the session (used in the Save and Continue Later feature), once with the pre-populated link you will only need to add the session variable.

Once you have created and shared the links, you could find each opened session in the submissions page of your form:

I would like to have a staff member start a form save it and then give it to the customer to complete? Image 1 Screenshot 20

If you need to view the entered information then you will only need to open the link like this:

    www.jotform.com/formID?session=kevin@jotform.com

    Hope this helps.

I have a followup question regarding the option of sending an edit link in the submitted form so that it may be further edited....in order to do this, I would put a SUBMIT BUTTON after the questions i want underwriting to fill out, and then the sales person clicks on the EDIT LINK in the email generated, CORRRECT? and if yes, then this means i CAN NOT have any required fields AFTER the first submit button, because obviously i there will be unanswered questions after the first submit button. CORRECT? and if yes, is there a work around for this? (i know about the prepopulate WEBSITE, i am trying to avoid using that) .
