Preventing people from submitting the same response repeatedly?

    Hi JotForm,

I've created a form that allows staff at my company to submit tickets to our IT help team when they're having tech issues, and I'm wondering if there is a way to prevent staff from just submitting the same form repeatedly? Knowing how frustrated people get when they're having tech problems, I'm worried that some staff members will attempt to submit multiple forms for a singular issue in hopes that it will get their problem solved faster. I see that their are options in my form settings for 'unique submissions,' but I'm not 100% sure that I understand how they work. Is there a way to make it so someone can submit multiple forms using the same computer as long as all/most of the question responses are different?

Sorry if this question is unclear, please let me know if there's anything that needs to be better explained!

    Thank you!

    Sara

Yes, you are correct, the Unique Submission option as explained in the guide — How-to-Set-Unique-Submissions-on-a-Form — is a good way of preventing multiple submissions, however, if you want other people using the same computer (with the same browser) or other people in the same network to be able to still submit your form, then I suggest you set a unique question instead — How-to-set-Form-Limits-Based-on-a-Unique-Question

Selecting a field as a unique question lets the form check if the data/value in that field was already submitted before.
