    How to set numeric validation for Postal (Zip Code) field?

    Asked by pinkcandycloset on August 09, 2012 at 06:48 AM

    My username is pinkcandycloset.

    I am testing form and it has an auto-responder. The one who fills the form, receives an email. But I do not get any email about details. I have to login into jotme and check if I receive any form or no.

    Can you look into it please since this is an order form?

    Also, I want to have zipcode as a numeric field. I tried many ways, but it doesnt let me validate. Same for phone numbers too. Right now both accepts everything hence I get many dummy enrties for this 2 fields.

    Hi and thanks for contacting us.

    You don't have jet created an email notification but I've created just one for you.

    You can open your form and choose Setup & Embed tab and then choose "Email Notification" button.

    You can edit it as you need. You will receive your email notification to: pinkcandycloset@g****.com

    To allow only number in some fields you need to embed your form trough source code and edit code adding a javascript control like this:

    <!--
    function isNumber(evt)
    {
    var charCode = (evt.which) ? evt.which : event.keyCode
    if (charCode > 31 && (charCode < 48 || charCode > 57))
    return false;

    return true;
    }
    //-->
    </script>

    and adding this on textbox code line: onkeypress="return isNumber(event)

    Example:

    <input id="digitsonly" onkeypress="return isNumber(event)" type="text" name="digitsonly" /></form>

    Hope this helps.

    Do not hesitate to contact us if you need more help

    Sure you can create a Form Autoresponder. My colleague has already created an email notification for you. So when someone fills your form, you will receive a notification email. And thanks to the Autoresponder feature submitter will receive a copy of the submitted form as well.

    Great!
    Another thing is since my form is on facebook and i am only embedding the
    javascript code and not the entire code in facebook iframe app so making
    changes in code is not possible for me. Hoe do i make text field to numeric
    field?

    We do not have validation for Zip Code Address field, but you may add a Hover Text to provide information about that Zip Code field to form users.

    Alternatively, you can replace your Address element with some custom one. For example, you can use Text Box fields.

    Note: you can set Validation for Text Boxes.
