Analytics: Track form abandonment?

We would like to track which form fields are filled and when a form is left. This can be implemented with Google Analytics and JS-Events - does JotForms support this tracking?

Were you perhaps looking for the Google Analytics widget? JotForm also have Form Analytics that will allow you to get your user's info.

If this is not, can you please describe more your requirement.

We will check more once we get more understanding of what you need.

    Dear Jonathan,

    thank you for your message.
Your answer might point in the right direction, but we still got two questions about this:
-> Does Jotform's Form Analytics allow to see at which field a user stopped to fill in the form fields?
-> Google Analytics does allow to track JS-Events, so it could analyze this behavior – but the events would have to be triggered with JavaScript – do you know if the Google Analytics widget does provide these Events to Analytics and if not if there is a way to solve this?

    Best,

Unfortunately, it doesn't support that tracking. You could only track the number of submissions, devices used, geo-position etc.

Regarding your second question. What exactly you would like to track with the event? The empty fields?

The Google Analytics Widget works similar to adding the Google Analytics tracking code.  Since we do not allow for adding javascript to forms, this allows for the Google Analytics tracking to be added to forms without having to add the tracking code.  It then forwards the tracking data to your Analytics accounts, just as the tracking code would.

    We'll wait for your response.

    Thank you!

    Dear Nik_C,

    thanks for your reply!
Yes - our client would like to track at which point a user stops to fill out the fields.

Unfortunately, we do not have that feature in our analytics. You may want to consider using your form source code as a workaround. Then add your google analytics script including those event tracking scripts. You can also add any other scripts you want.

Should you have any other questions, let us know.

By the way, I have also raised this as a feature request so hopefully, this will be added in our analytics in the future updates.
