Is there a way for us to allow people to register for an event while only paying a deposit, allow staff to input a scholarship amount, and then allow the person then to come back and make a balance payment at a later date?
Person 1 registers their teen for x event and pays $50 of the $200 owed
Staff 1 then gives the teen a $50 scholarship
Now Person 1 owes $100.
Can they now go back and pay the balance without us having to create and track multiple forms to find out who has paid in full?
I know we could handle the scholarship step with a workflow but I' not sure how to give the person a link back to pay their balance.

To my understanding, you would like to use any of our payment integrations to collect payments for registrations. Although it is possible for you to collect payments from your registrants where they can define the amount that they would only want to deposit, it would not be possible for your registrants to use the same form (in edit mode) to pay for their remaining balance after they have successfully used the form paying their deposit. There is a way to let your respondents edit their submissions, unfortunately, it is not possible to update the payment field in edit mode because it will be disabled (read only) in that state.
You can either have them fill up the same but empty form or fill up an entirely different form to pay for their balances.
I'm not sure if this will fit your requirements but you can also set a subscription in the payment field similar to what is shown in the image below
With setup, registrants will pay $50 initially (partially) then, after a week they will be charged again for the remaining $100.00
