Warning: Please make the following fields unrequired in MailChimp

Asked by DavidVerissimo on August 19, 2012 at 02:56 PM

When i try to integrate MailChimp in form "Inquérito de Satisfação" i get this message: "Please make the following fields unrequired in MailChimp:  Data de Nascimento" (Data de Nascimento means Birth Date)

I need this field to be required and don't understand why you insist to put this field as unrequired...the form you refer to is not even in Jotform! It is created automaticly by MailChimp on my Facebook Fan Page.

    Can you help me?

    Thanks

    David

    David,

I understand the importance of this field "Data de Nascimento", and I'm checking on this issue now.
but, have you considered to set this field as "Unrequired" within MailChimp, but as "Required" within Jotform?
this might solve you issue now with same results.

    Sincerely

    SADER

    Hi Sader,

You don't understand, they are 2 different forms. The form i'm trying to integrate in MailChimp is one form and the form where you tell me to make the birth date field unrequired is another. Strange right?...

The first form, as i said earlier, is ""Inquérito de Satisfação" and it's one of my JotForm forms but the second form was automatically created by MailChimp in one of my Fan Page Favorite tabs in Facebook.

I don't understand the connection between the two of them...i don't even know how do you got the info that MailChimp created a form on my FanPage!

I could set the Birth Date field as "Unrequired" in my FanPage so that i can complete the integration on JotForm (and i have done that in the past) but everytime someone fills the form on my Facebook FanPage i end up not getting his Birth Date!

    @David

It is indeed strange, especially after checking your JotForm account I could not find a form titled  "Inquérito de Satisfação".

Was it created under a different JotForm account?

I'm sorry, my mistake. The form is not called "Inquérito de Satisfação", that is the Header of the form. The name of the form is "Questionário de Satisfação do cliente".

As far as I understand, your MailChimp and JotForm based forms are not connected.

Our Mailchimp Integration Wizard is showing "remove required status" warning due to the fact that our integration is limited to two fields only (Full Name and Email).

Unfortunately, there is no way to forward Birth Date data into MailChimp from JotForm based form. We do have plans to fix it, but I can not provide any ETA for now.

We will let you know once we improve our MailChimp integration. Thank you for using our services.

Sir, that does not answer my question. The forms ARE NOT connected to one another and i WAS NOT trying to forward more than the two fields you allow...

The second form (in my Facebook FanPage) IS NOT even a jotform form! How can you ask me to make the birth date field unrequired if this form is not from JotForm? What's going on here? You were not suppoused to know that this form even exists!

I am sorry, but I am not sure why do you ask us about your MailChimp form.

Do you want to integrate your "Questionário de Satisfação do cliente" form with MailChimp?

If yes, you will have to mark your Birth Date field as not required via your MailChimp *account*. Your MailChimp list is saying that Birth Date is required, but we can not send that data, that is why you are getting the warning.

In other words, we do not ask you to mark Birth Date as unrequired via MailChimp form. We ask you to make it unrequired via MailChimp Mailing List settings.

    Hope that makes things clear.

Ok, i understand what you are saying. It's really frustrating but i understand.

What this means for me is: Since the Form on my Facebook FanPage is automatically created by MailChimp according to the Mailing List settings i will have to choose between one of them. If i make the field unrequired via MailChimp Mailing List settings i can complete the MailChimp integration but i wont be getting the birth date of my facebook fans. If i maintain the field required in MailChimp i will not be able to complete the integration on JotForm...

This is a technical issue and i understand you can't do nothing about it right now. I know you are working in making the MailChimp integration a lot better and i can just hope you do this as soon as possible.

As always you were a great and friendly help. Keep up the good work my friends.
