Google analytics referral issue still there after no-override & referral exclusion

    Hi,

I've read every forum post I could find about the topic, but the answers are vague and most of the topics aren't closed.

I'm having the familiar problem where submit.jotformeu.com or eu.jotform.com are indicated as referral in my google analytics instead of the real source for my conversions. Because of this I don't know where my clients are coming from! This is very problematic, especially in a B2B environment where you only have 3-4 conversions per day.

I've added ?no-override suffix to my thank-you pages on my different forms, but this doesn't make a difference.

I've added the domains to referral exclusion of google analytics, but now of the 3 leads I had yesterday, I can only find 1 back in google analytics. Meaning referral exclusion doesn't only remove jotform and give me back the original referral, it just erases everything.

So I'm still there with my original problem. Please help.

Please add this domain (submit.jotformeu.com) into your Referral Exclusions

I have checked 1 of your shared form and I noticed the ?utm_nooverride=1 parameters in the Thank You Page URL. However, it seems that there is a back slash before the question mark.

    Please try these URLs:

    https://www.citizenlab.co/demo-thanks?utm_nooverride=1

    or

    https://www.citizenlab.co/demo-thanks/index.php?utm_nooverride=1

You may also try our Google Analytics widget.

Hope that helps. Let us know if the issue is still the same. Thank you.

This was a bit too soon, it still gives errors. So I use the widget and I did the override. If there's no solution, I will have no other option than to not use jotform anymore... Please help!

Are you using Universal Analytics or the Google Analytics (Classic)?

The Referral Exclusions only works in Universal Analytics. If you are using the Classic Analytics, then the utm_nooverride=1 should work.

Please make sure that you are only using 1 method depending on the analytics you are using.

Also, please provide the error messages that you are getting so that we can further check. If possible, please provide screenshots as well.
