Dropbox Integration: Files with # symbol in their names are not received when PayPal integration is enabled

In testing my forms for my annual competitions, the mp3s that I upload onto the form (Senior Honors Choir) that are to be integrated into Dropbox, come up "empty". I get this error:

    Empty files can’t be previewed
    3783871257515923821 - #1 Funny Valentine.mp3 · 0 bytes

I know they aren't because I play them from my computer but if I download them FROM the Dropbox file that came from JotForm, they won't play. We started having this problem toward the end of our competition applications processing last year but I didn't think the problem was on our end. Most entries worked, only a few did not. But now that I am testing it, I'm having the same problem now. I thought I'd ask JotForm first before I ask Dropbox Support. Can you help please? I have to put these forms on our website soon!

The MP3 file is not empty on the submissions page. I think this is a problem with our Dropbox integration. I am now testing this up. I'll update you after testing.

I cannot seem to replicate it using the same MP3 file in your form. Would you mind re-integrating the form with Dropbox to see if that fixes it?

I already did that with all my forms in case that was the problem but it still didn't help.

I see. Let me investigate further. I will clone your form and test the integration using it. I'll keep you posted.

I'm sorry, but I cannot seem to figure it out. The cloned version generates an empty file for me. I did the following to no avail:

    ~Remove the spacer widgets.

    ~Remove the eSignature widgets.

    ~Remove the Paypal integration.

~Remove the file upload fields and re-add.

I will continue to investigate. I'll send this to our developers, one more solution I have in mind. I'll let you know.

Can you rename the file and remove the # in it? Please try your form again. I got it to work without the Number sign.

Otherwise, let me know and I'll forward this thread to our developers for them to take a look.

Well, that worked but I had always used those as tests last year. The problem though might still be there with an integration with Dropbox though. The mp3 submissions do not have a # sign in the titles of those mp3s and as I mentioned in my original post, most of the submissions were fine last year but for some reason, some were not and it was too many to be a fluke. I guess at this point, I'll just have to wait to see if we have that problem again this October. With 100 auditions submissions for competitions, it can get pretty stressful though if something's going wrong. Thanks so much for helping.

It seems that files with # symbols in their names are not being forwarded to Dropbox when there is a PayPal integration configured on form.

A bug report ticket has been forwarded to our developers. We will let you know if we have any updates on this.
