    Hi

Voice Recorder widget does not seem to work in Safari, neither in current stable versions nor in the release 11 beta which is supposed to support webrtc. Please help.

Please make sure that you are using the secure URL of the form since the Voice Recorder widget requires it. Also, the browser must allow the widget to use the device mic (to record audio)

    Ex:

I test it using your form but I was not able to encounter the issue. The voice recorder was able to record the audio and play it on the form.

Can you please retry using the secure URL of the form https://www.jotform.ca/form/72296574341259

Let us know if still not working.

After further test I was able to reproduced the issue using Safari 10xx browser.

I have forwarded this thread to the higher team support so they can check and fix.

We will notify you here once we have update on the status.

For the meantime, I recommend using a different browser for now like Chrome or Firefox as the Voice Recorder widget work on any version of them.

    Thank you for reporting this.

    Hi
Thank you for the response. The problem occurs only in Apple's Safari browser @OSX. Could you please confirm that you tested successfully on this platform?
    Many thanks
    Tom

The Voice recorder widget is mainly based on WebRTC with a fallback option using Flash. Unfortunately, not all browsers support WebRTC like IE and Safari. Check this page for details http://iswebrtcreadyyet.com/ - browsers with green bars means WebRTC-Capable.

So here's how the voice recorder widget renders in the browser.

    > When the browser does not support WebRTC, a fallback option will be placed using Flash.

    > When Flash is also not supported in the browser, then the browser will not be able to show you anything except the error. This means you can't use the widget.

So in order for your users to use the voice recorder widget smoothly, suggest them to use Chrome or Firefox.

    Hope this clears the issue.

    Hi
Thanks for explanation, we realise the issue of webrt compatibility but the problem is that the widet does not work under Safari 11 even though it supports webrtc.
    Regards

Thank you for providing more details. We have already submitted a ticket to our higher team support so they can take a look on the issue.

They'll be able to know what to do to make the widget support Safari browser 11 as well.

You will be notified here for any update on the status.

Hi WebRTC has a wide variety of features. From video to audio, that technology use on the widget mainly focus on the main features. Even they told you it's supported if the browser rejects it. We  can't do anything about it, it's beyond our reach. Unfortunately safari suffers so much on this. Until then we have to wait until it's fully supported.
