Form is crashing

We were able to remove the "purchase order" app and insert a PayPal payment option into the cloned form. However, when we published the form and tried load it in our browser, the form either crashed or kept on loading without the possibility of filling it out. We then tried to remove the PayPal integration and the form loaded without problems. So it seems like something went wrong with the PayPal setup on our form. We tried the regular PayPal integration as well as the PayPal Express and PayPal Pro options (using the API for the latter two), but none of them worked. We are puzzled as to what is wrong as we followed the steps from the video, guidance from the JotForm website, and use the same configuration as one of our JotForm forms that we successfully integrated with PayPal earlier.

Could you have a look into these two forms and let us if there is anything wrong with the PayPal setup of the cloned form that doesn't seem to be working?

Clone of JotForm that we want to integrate PayPal with (not working):

Comparable JotForm that we succesfully integrated with PayPal (working):

I was able to replicate the issue when I opened your form. The form is crashing. Please disable the "Continue Forms Later" function in the Form Settings, here's how:

    1. In the Form Builder, click "Settings" and then go to "Form Settings". After that, click the "Show More Options" button.

    2. Look for "Continue Forms Later" and make sure it is disabled.

If you would like to have a save and continue later function, please use the session method. Here's a guide: https://www.jotform.com/help/97-How-to-Save-Forms-and-Continue-Later.

    Hope that helps. Thank you.

    Hi Jan,

Thanks for your help with this! I disabled the "continue forms later function" and the form with the PayPal integration works now.

However, we also tried to set up a save and continue later function using the "session" method using the steps from the link you provided and we have difficulty getting that to work. Specifically, when a visitor fills out the form and uses the redirecting link to save and continue later with the form the form doesn't seem to work. The form just keeps on loading in the browser, becomes really slow, and then crashes in the browser. See for example:

Could you have a look and see if I didn't set this up correctly?

    The Session URL form:

The form with PayPal it's linking to:

    Thanks!

I checked the 2nd form (https://www.jotform.us/form/72347331029149) and I can see that the "Continue Forms Later" is still enabled. Please disable it to fix the issue.

Hope that helps. If you have any questions, let us know. Thank you.

    Hi Jan,

Thanks, that worked. Both forms seem to be working now. However, upon testing the PayPal integration, I identified a new problem. Users that fill out the form can come back to the form later using the link. However, once the form has been submitted and the user is redirected to PayPal, the user must pay the bill or the data gets lost. If the user doesn't pay and then tries to go back to the form using the link they have to start over again with a blank form. Is there a setting in JotForm to prevent this from happening?
Is it possible to send the user an invoice from PayPal rather than requiring the user to pay right away?

    Thanks,

    Martin Hoogendijk

As the issues you're currently facing are not directly related to the original form crashing thread, I have separated them and we will be addressing them in https://www.jotform.com/answers/1232840 and https://www.jotform.com/answers/1232841 ASAP

Thank you in advance for your understanding.
