I understand that you want to capture the first-page information and then let the user fill the second page anytime later. Is that correct? If so, you may consider using two different forms for each page and use the Thank you page redirection method to send the user to fill the second form later.
Alternatively, you may use the same form by letting the user to submit the form and edit the submission later.
Since you have only two pages to be filled, the method using session parameter doesn't make much difference with the method of using Thank you page redirection.

If I use the thank you method will I have two different places that data is being captured?
This is like a get more info form, so we won't really expect anyone to come back later we want to collect initial interest information.

Yes. Since the second-page information is divided into a separate form, the information is stored separately. However, you may have the same fields of the first form on the second form and pass the information that is submitted on the first form to the second form. Please refer to the guide below:
