How do I make a section of the form a mandatory field?

You need to edit your form and set the form field as required field. Please check the screenshot below on how to make any form field as mandatory / required field:

Thank you so much, I'm completely out of my depth when it comes to
anything like this, I couldn't have done it without your help.
The only other thing is, our site is linked to another website, the URL
thingy that one of your colleagues gave me to give to them is slightly
different to the one shown above the form Ive just edited? it says
https://form.jotform.com/10423607385 and he gave me
http://www.jotform.com/form/10423607385 so now I don't know which one to
give them

Both URL's will work.  I would recommend using https://form.jotform.com/10423607385 though as it is using using secure transmission of data.
