I use Jotform for a charity bike ride and it works very. Even better with integration to mailchimp so you can send out emails to previous entrants as well as sending out emails leading up to the event.
The one thing missing is integration with a database that would allow a previous entrant to enter their email and for their details to be extracted from the database so they do not have to renter it all over again.
If only jotform was able to take data from mailchimp automatically to fill a form when an email is entered into the form. I can send a email to previous entrant with a hyperlink taking data to fill the form using merge tags but there is no way as far as I can tell for this to happen automatically from an entry form.

You can use the Spreadsheet to Form widget for this function. This widget allows you to upload your spreadsheet to your form and use the values you have on the spreadsheet to pre-populate your form.
Please check this user guide: https://www.jotform.com/help/442-How-to-Use-the-Spreadsheet-to-Form-Widget.
Here's a screen capture of how the widget works:
Hope that helps. If you have any questions, let us know. Thank you.
