Setting up Email Notifications - need some clarification on differences

    Hi there

    I refer to the following.

    Setting up Email Notifications

    https://www.jotform.com/help/25-Setting-up-Email-Notifications

Based on that, I simulated the operation, though, I encountered the following questions.

1.What is the difference between the following URLs

    https://gyazo.com/121e58032e0b35956a8cf35f72cd517f

    https://gyazo.com/fb6d89f27c12f8e447c8e451f2f0b4a0

    2.Regarding for Advanced

What is No2 of notification? Before we notice, this one comes out on

the screen. Which case number is changeable?

I think the status of default is enough.

Which kinds of case you suggest me to customise?

    Hello omaruko,

I checked the links but they're not showing anything. Can you give us a bit more details on this matter instead?

But if you are referring to the difference between the notification and autoresponder:

Notification is the email alert which you can set to send to a specific email address. This normally is used by the form owner to assign specific which email addresses should receive an alert everytime a submission gets received.

Autoresponder - It basically means an automatic response of the form to send an email to the person who filled up and made the submission. You can assign an email address field that is in the form so that when the person fills up his email address, the email will be sent there.

With regard to the No2 Notification, this basically is another notification. Simply, this is similar to the 1st email notification that you have, On both, you can change the content of the email body, and on both, you can assign different email addresses. So any of the two email notifications will be fine. You can remove any of those if you only need one.

If I am misunderstanding your concern, please let us know.

    Thanks.

Setting up Email Notifications need some clarification on differences Image 1 Screenshot 20Regarding your first question,

    1. That is a static text or a label holder for your address field. So if the address field in your form contains data during submission, that text will be shown as the label for the address field.

    2. If you click that a code "{form_title}" will appear, that code contains the data or title of your form. So when you wan't to change your form title, you don't need to change your email notification.

For your second question, it depends on what you want to enable or disable. The use of those function are written below each button.

Let us know if you have more questions or I have misunderstood your question.

    Thanks,

Let me confirm my understanding as follows.

Please clarify what is #2 ?

Do you want to put the Form Title {form_title} within the email content message?

You can also do that by adding the field name tags i.e. {form_title} in the message content.

Please take a good look at image gain.

Regarding 1 User create their own respectively.

Regarding 2 form_title and name which side fill users or I?

    Please clarify the above matter.

@omaruko - Treat them as question and answer pairs in layman's term. By default, this is how a typical notification template would look like:

Setting up Email Notifications need some clarification on differences Image 1 Screenshot 30

The question labels on the template are to be setup by you as the form owner. You can rename these however you like. The answers on the other hand (the ones enclosed within {} curly brackets), are the answers your user's filled out on the form.

These are the Unique Names of each of the fields you have on your form. But to keep things simpler, think of them as placeholders.

e.g. {email} will be populated with the email address your customer filled out

    So:

Questions = You set them up, they are static and will remain the same on the emails you receive.

Answers = The ones your customers filled out, they are dynamic and will change depending on your user's answers.

    Related guide: How-to-Find-Field-IDs-and-Names

The ones you see on the Subject Line are the same - These are the Unique Names (placeholders) of the fields on your form.

Form title -{form_title}- will be the title of the form that you set in the form, for example, this:

My form title is "basic contact form" so that is what will appear in the email subject:

Setting up Email Notifications need some clarification on differences Image 1 Screenshot 30

And {name} will be filled from the field in the form by the user (submitter):

Whatever they fill in the Name field will appear in the email subject in {name}.

    Hope it helps.

    Thank you!
