    how can i get two boxes next to eachother?

    You cannot do that but you can put two questions side by side. Right click on them and then select "Shrink".

    thanks for your help.

    another question if you could help. when i put a radio button in, can you get the 2 options side by side?

    For that you will need to select the radio button question and then click on "Spread Columns" button on the toolbar.
