I'm trying to test the form expiration date. It's unclear what timezone the date is set. For example, I just tried a test by setting expiration to today at 8:30 am. I'm in EST (New York) and my account settings timezone is "America/New_York".
8:30 am just came and went and the form is still accepting submissions.
I saw in another post that the expiration date needs to be set 5 hours in advance. Is this still the case? If so, why is this so? It makes it very hard to test expiration (I have to set it now and wait 5 hours!!).

It is true that you need to set the time for your form to expire, at least 5 hours before the expiration time, according to our user guide.
I escalated this issue to our developers. You will be informed on this thread once there is an update. But I cannot give you an ETA.
I want to learn if you have tried to set the expiration time 5 hours in advance and a problem occurred anyway?

I set an expiration earlier today for 3pm EST. I set this prior to 9am, so that is a 6+ hour window. We'll see at 3pm if the form expires correctly.
I'm testing this because I had a form that was supposed to expire at 11:59 pm this Wednesday and we still got submissions at 2:15am. My account timezone was set to EST at that time. I've since changed it to America/New_York to see if that makes a difference.
As an aside, I'm a developer and I realize time zones are hard. That said, it would be helpful if your form expiration UI made it explicit which time zone was in use for the form expiration date and time. It is very important for us as we have a deadline we need to enforce.

Let us know if any issues come up from your tests and we will forward them along with this ticket. From my previous testing, the account time zone was indeed what was used in determining the expiration date. I agree that there should be notation when the setting is used stating that the account time zone will be the reference time.

It worked correctly. Thanks!
