Payment and donation on same form

Someone asked 1246001-How-to-Sell-Products-and-Donation-option-payment-type-on-the-same-form.

The answer from Jonathan was not very descriptive

"You can achieve this by setting up a custom payment form wherein the Sell Products and Donation option data will be coming from regular fields and not from the payment field. 

You will just use the PayPal payment field to capture the total payment so that the actual payments will be processed using PayPal payment gateway."

Is this using the Form Calculation Widget?

Yes. The form elements need to be added the form manually as per your requirement. The values of the fields can be calculated using a calculation widget. Please refer to the guide below that can help you with performing calculations.

If you are having drop down/single entry/multiple entry fields on the form displaying your products or related options, you may assign calculation values as well. Please check the guide below:

Once, you have the total calculated on the calculation widget, you may pass the value to the payment field by selecting Collect Donations option in the payment type and choose the calculation field as the Get price from field.
