I changed the email to my email; however to try the "test" email it still has the previous person's email address and I am not getting the test emails? Do I need to have my email set up somewhere else first?

When doing test email on form, the test mail will be sent to the email that manages the form and not the email you have entered in the notification. To test the email you have setup for the notifications to be sent to, you need to fill the form like a user of the form. This will ensure email is sent to the form default "email" and the "additional" email you set up.
