Is it possible to edit downloaded excel files and upload to replace?

is it possible to download the excel or csv file, make changes and re-upload to replace the data?  

We have an import application: http://import.jotform.io/ where you can export your submissions from the form and import by using the import app. The issue here is that you cannot import and overwrite the existing data, it will just add new submission data.

Unless you export submissions to CSV, edit the entries, remove all submissions and import, which could be a process.

Another way would be to edit each submission from Submissions page and submit the changes from there.
