Save Form and Continue Later: Uploaded files are not saved

We have created an application through JotForm. We are asking for particular documents to be uploaded for our viewing. It has been brought to our attention from applicants, that it appears they can upload documents but once they save, go back to the application, or submit the application, the documents are no longer attached.

When you say 'once they save', do you mean to say that they are using session parameters and that they are closing and opening the browser again, and the like? Or is this about editing submissions?

We will look forward to your response.

    Thanks.

We have set our form up so applicants have the option to save and continue later (by creating Form 1 and Form 2). We have tried to complete the application in one sitting, without saving and continuing at a later time, and it still did not save any attachments. It showed up while working in the application but when it was received, no attachments were there.

Please try by using the Form 1 through this link to see if attachments come through.

I tested your standalone form and all files that I uploaded are shown on the submissions page.

The upload fields are not required, so your users do not have to upload any files.

Considering that you made a test I assume that you uploaded the files. Which file extension did you use, how large were those fields and which browser and device did you use when you tested the standalone form without the session URL?

I just saw your other reply. I submitted the form you provided and I received an Autoresponder email with session link. However, I noticed that I was redirected to a different form and not to the form that you originally provided on this thread. I was redirected to this form https://form.jotform.us/71914315090148 and you provided us this form https://form.jotform.com/71983177590165.

I tested the form to which I was redirected to and Save Form feature is working properly. Here is my session link: https://form.jotform.us/71914315090148?session=bojana@jotform.com

All files that I uploaded are there. I did not submit the form, so that you can check the session link. You can submit it using my session link and then check if all data is shown on the submission page.

It still doesn't seem to be working properly for me. I have a total of 3 applications that I've created for our constituents (new school application, existing school application and renewal school application). I've been working on creating these applications for a few months. It appears that on my New School and Existing school applications, I've chose the "select file" option for our applications to attach any documents they need to provide. This feature seems to be working in those 2 applications. However, in my renewal school application, for any questions that we are requesting documents be uploaded, it is showing "browse" rather than "select file". Anytime, we try to upload a file by using that "browse" feature - the file uploads but then does not save. Because I've been working on these for a few months, I can't remember where I found the "select file" feature. What is the difference between the "browse" feature and the "select file" feature? And, where do I find the "select file" feature to replace the "browse" feature in my renewal school application? Hoping once I can do that, it will work like the others.

I have spent some time investigating this issue and I think I found the reason about why the files are not saved.

First, let me explain the following:

    - JotForm has two features that allow to save the data, come back and continue filling the form on a later date:

    1. Autofill: It saves the data on the browser cache, it does not allow to save files due to security reasons.

    2. Save and continue later: It saves the data on our servers through the session parameter and it allows to save the file.

On your form https://form.jotform.us/71914315090148 you have enabled the "Autofill" feature so this why you cannot get the files saved. I would recommend you to disable such option so the session method should save the files:

Now, the files upload fields can accept a single file as well as multiple files at the same time. On your form you're allowing multiple files, but the save and continue feature should still work with that.

However, in case you want to disable such option, you can do it on the field settings:

Save Form and Continue Later: Uploaded files are not saved Image 21

    I hope this helps.
