Item Descriptions in Square

This has been asked a few times, with the replies saying it has been sent to the developers, but still nothing...

It's a very basic feature requirement: the description of an item sold on JotForm, must be visible in Square. For both customer receipts and our accounting.

Currently, only the customer name is visible, but we don't know what they bought.

It seems such an obvious feature, any updates on this?

    Dom.

I'm sorry to say this but when I browsed your forum threads, I was not able to see any threads posted by you regarding this request. If you send us the thread URL where this feature request was escalated, we can tell you the current situation of your request.

On the other hand, if I understood your question correctly, you want to show purchased products details on payment field column at your submission page to see what products are purchased. If this is the case, you can still see the products details on your submission page with a tricky way.

You can create your products with some other fields such as multiple choice field by assigning calculation values and then pass the calculated value to your payment field. Here is the user guide of what I mentioned above:

    https://www.jotform.com/help/275-How-to-Pass-a-Calculation-to-a-Payment-Field

With the help of this, you can see the selected products on the related field column at your submission page.

    Hi Rose,

Please see the comments in this thread, where customers are crying out for this feature but jotform says it's low on the priority list.

    https://www.jotform.com/answers/1001711-Square-Integration-Allow-product-items-to-be-mapped-or-have-a-category-when-received-in-Square-account

The only information that jotform sends to a square report is name and email. So if im selling a $25 ticket to an event and a $25 ticket to another event, all the square report says is name and email and $25, but I don't know what it's for unless I go to my emails or to a google spreadsheet which is alot of double handling.

Here is an example of a form for an event ticket https://form.jotform.co/72704571043855

Here is all I see in Square:

1508263522Square Descriptions.jpgGiven some people buy 2 X $25 items and some people buy 1 X $50 items, I don't know what is what from an accoun ting point of view.

It's a simple request, we need to be able to add the description of the item, thats all.

Here is what the customer sees:

    1508263647Customer Receipt.jpg

They also have no description on their receipt for what they bought. Only "Custom Amount" and the first and last name they entered in JotForm.

If JotForm can bring first and last name over to Square, why can it not add a items as well?

    Dom.

I have submitted a feature request for you. The developers will look into this and make a decision. And you will be notified of any progress on this thread.

As I check the ticket, I see that the feature request is currently in our nice to do list. Unfortunately, we cannot provide any ETA for the implementation of the feature. However, if there is any update, you'll be posted here.

We appreciate your patience and understanding. Thank you!

I've made an update that adds the purchased items into the note field of the email, it is being displayed along with the customer name now.

    Does this solve the problem?

We're looking forward to your reply.
