how can we delete the storage in our account so it doesn't reach the max allowed?

If you are talking about your upload/file storage, you can delete it by deleting the submission which contains the uploaded files.
Note that if you delete a submission you cannot recover it back.

You might need to check it individually by downloading the file on each submission. Or you can download all your Uploaded files instead and save it to your computer so you have local copy.
Or download all your submission via Excel,CSV or PDF format for local copy.
