A few people who were trying to fill out one of our forms encountered a strange problem with the question asking for their email address, which I created using the Field Confirmation widget. Rather than seeing two boxes with the actual question text ("Email" and "Confirm email"), they saw no boxes and just a random word that couldn't be deleted (see screenshot).
I haven't been able to replicate this problem; it always works just fine for me, no matter which browser I try. I'm at a loss as to how I can fix this--any ideas?

I have been testing your form and noticed it works fine on my end:
May be that there is something blocking the widget on your users end, an extension installed on the browser, something on the network they're connected to or any antivirus software.
Is it possible to know the browser where your users replicated the issue?
If possible, please ask them to check if anything of the above mentioned is causing the problem, they could try with a different internet connection.
I also cleared your forms cache so the latest version of your form loads.

Thanks! I'm working on finding out what browsers they were using. It was actually a different form that had the problem: the one called "STAR Cohort Contact Info Form."

I have also tested the form you mentioned - with link http://www.jotform.us/form/71726706071152 - but the widget appears fine on my end.
