How can I edit submissions while looking at a 'table view'?

I want the ability for myself and other sub users to add notes to submissions. 

Things like assigning a submission to a certain staff, setting a respond by date, and other miscellaneous notes.

This seems theoretically possible by creating hidden fields for these topics, and then letting the staff watching the incoming submissions edit the submissions.

When i looked at this a few weeks ago, i felt like there was the ability to edit submissions while looking at all the responses in a 'table'/'spreadheet' style view.

This made it easy to look at all the new submissions and quickly add a note. 

However it seems like in the submission view now, you have to edit each submission individually, and for multi page forms, have to scroll across the pages to the hidden fields. This adds a number of extra steps and seems very clunky. 

Is there a way to edit submissions while looking at them in 'table' view? And or some other easy way to add notes and other tracking information to submissions?

But you should be mindful there, since customizing the integrated Spreadsheet could possibly break the integration. On the other hand, I tested the above and it should work fine.

Also, please note that editing of the submission should happen with the Edit Submission link only, so not in the Sheet.

Then you could share the Spreadsheet with other co-workers.

Could that work?

Thanks Nik_C, unfortunately i think we will have some data security /archiving type requirements that might limit me from using the google sheet integration. So if it was feasible i would really like a solution that was contained within Jotform. 

Did the ability to view/edit submissions when in 'table view' get changed? 

Editing form submission data has always been done from within the form.  When the form is resubmitted, it overwrites the previously entered data.

As far as I know, it has never been possible to edit submissions within a grid.  The data can be viewed in grid format various different ways, but none of the options allow for altering the data within the table.
