    Slow Download of CSV Report

    Recently, the time to download a CSV report for one of our forms has gone from a second or two to over a minute. The CSV file that is being downloaded is small only 11KB. When the download starts I immediatiely see in the downloads folder a part file which is the size of the entire file (11KB) and the actual file which has the correct file name but a size of 0KB. The web browser indicates that the download is starting. After about a minute or so the download completes. I have  been able to download a CSV version of the file from the submissions screen without any delay. 

    We have two other forms where we also use a CSV report to download and those files download quickly with none of the problems described above. In order to help isolate the problem, I have downloaded these files at different times of the day on different computers and with different browsers to make sure that the problem isn't  internet traffic or something on our end.

    As I was unable to access the said report due to password protection, I created a test CSV report for your form and tried to download it repeatedly on my end.

    Result? The file was downloaded instantly, in around a second or so.

    In order to help isolate the problem, I have downloaded these files at different times of the day on different computers and with different browsers to make sure that the problem isn't  internet traffic or something on our end.

    Are these different computers connected on the same network?

    I have a feeling that something on your network connection (firewall, perhaps?) is causing this delay.

    Since your reply, I rebooted my router and turned off all the firewalls and then attempted to download the CSV report. The problem is still there exactly as I described in my initial message, over a minute to downlaod. I then  turned off the password protection on the file download that was taking over a minute and when I did that the file  downloaded in about a second. I then put the password protection back on the download using a differnt password and again the file  took over a minute to download.

    I do not understand how the problem can be on my side especially when I have 2 other nearly identical CSV files I download both with password protection to the same computer on the same network  and they both download in less than a second

    It appears that there is something going on with how the password is being handled for this particular file.

    I apologize for my hasty conclusion without extensively testing your form.

    I was finally able to recreate the problem - it occurs when a CSV report for this particular form is password protected.

    With that said, I have forwarded your concern to our development team.

    We will notify you as soon as this issue is rectified.
