    print button without submit button

    Asked by cchl on September 17, 2012 at 10:49 AM

    Hi,

    I have a very long form and want people to be able to print sections of the form before starting the next section. Right now the only way to add a print button is with the submit field. Is there a way to separate these two, so people can print and continue to the "next" section of the form?

    I would like a print button after question # 49 and then later in the form too.

    thanks~

    Hello, it's possible to use the print button and then hide the submit button using CSS.

    Example:  Assuming that we have the ID of the submit button as input_394.

    #input_394 { display: none; }

    The result will be that the submit button will not appear while the print button will stay functional.

    Please let us know if you need further assistance.

    I'm trying to hide the submit button using your example above, but I cannot seem to get it working. Do I have to download the CSS and form code in order for this to work?

    I'm using WordPress.

    The solution provided by my colleague was specific to that form. The submit button needs to be tageted by its ID which is probably different in your form. If you provide the form's ID we should be able to give you the correct selector for your form.

    Thanks.

    Sorry, wasn't logged in.

    I just provided a link above.

    I looked at at the embed code and saw input_20 so I used that.

    It's only upon reading pinoytech's answer in the other thread that remembered that all of our forms' submit buttons have a class of form-submit-button. So, it turns out that you don't need to know the ID of the specific button.
