Stopping forward slashes in email hyperlinks

I wish to have a hyperlink going to the edit page from an email alert. Every time I try it is automatically putting a / in front of the link which breaks the link and the email program tries to find the link locally. How can I stop this?

This is the code I'm using:

    <a target="_blank" href="/{edit_link}">Click to edit details</a>

Yes, I just tested your link and I see what you mean. I don't want to break anything in your form. So, let me try something on one of my own forms and get back to you ASAP.

UPDATE: Eureka! Here's what to do. Instead of putting {edit_link} in the "Insert/edit link" box, put the actual edit link but replace the unique ID section of it with the variable that generates the unique ID: {id}. Use the following link in the "Insert/edit link" pop-up:{id}&mode=edit

(Replace the red 9s with your form's actual ID. Your form's ID is the string of eleven digits found at the end of its URL.)

This method worked in my tests. So, hopefully, it works for you too.

As to why that slash kept showing up when the other method was used, it's a mystery to me. I tried all sorts of things to get rid of it and nothing worked. I even put a backslash before it and that caused another slash to appear! It seemed like everything I put before the opening brace of "{edit_link}" could not prevent that slash. The one exception was when I put a slash. No slash appeared before that slash. Okay, enough of this slash/backslash talk because I may be starting to confuse both of us!

Just let me know if my solution worked for you as expected.

I am having a similar issue, but my forward link in the notification email is in front of the link I'm asking my customers for. I have my form auto-posting to blogger, and whenever the link is inserted it doesn't go anywhere, but rather appends itself to the URL of the page it's posted to.

    My form is here:

The links are youtube links like this one:

but what shows on their profile page after passing thruogh jotform is this:

The problem is in my notification html, and it won't let me change. Notice the slash in front of the first youtubeUrl24 tag. When I remove it, it automatically returns immediately afterwards.

    <p><strong>{hsGrad}</strong><br />{primaryPosition22}<br />{secondaryPosition23}</p>
    <p><strong>{highSchool25}</strong><br />{city},&nbsp;{state}&nbsp;</p>
    <p><strong>{addYoutube}&nbsp;</strong><br /><a target="_blank" href="/{youtubeUrl24}" >{youtubeUrl24}</a></p>
    <p><strong>{addMeasurements}</strong><br />{measurementsBox}</p>

Oops. Didn't meant to post the actual videos. There's no place for code in this forum. <code>do code tags work?</code> <pre>or pre</pre>

How about prefending http:// instead? Would this helps?

    <a target="_blank" href="http://{youtubeUrl24}" >{youtubeUrl24}</a></p>

We'd also suggest to open a new thread for your question as this one is way too old already.

    Thanks in advance!

That works, but now I must ask them to not include the http:// when adding the url. Possible, but random... and some less savvy internet users may not understand anything beyond a simple copy/paste. Thanks for the workaround, though.

Sorry for piggybacking off an old thread. I thought it might make it easier seeing the previous work.
