Can I securely collect credit card information?

I'm looking into a JotForm account in order to (among other things) receive credit card donations, but not using the payment gateways that are provided.  We have our own merchant account and system, and I would like to be able to create just a simple form that would collect the basic contact info, the amount of the desired donation, and all the collect all the necessary credit card info securely (which we would then process separately through our own gateway) and be assured that it will always be secure.  Does your SSL transmission provide adequate security for this?  And if we run up against the monthly limit of secure transmissions, does the form cease to function, or does it revert to an unsecured transmission (which we can't risk)?

I don't anticipate getting more than 10 submissions per month in the near term, but if we do receive more than 10 submissions a month, obviously we would graduate to the next level of account.

    Thanks for your attention.

    Hello Scott

Unfortunately, collecting such sensitive information on our forms would be violating our terms of use.

However, as you have mentioned, we do provide secure payment gateways that can help you process the credit card donations securely and also add credibility to your site.  You can consider these options and please let us know if you need further assistance.

I too have the same question - but this answer seems in conflict with the one given here:

    Which one is correct?

Is there any update to this? The link that was provided by Fiona & Mike_T appears to be broken.
