Help Understanding the Submission Process of Multiple Forms Using Iframe Embed

I am new to Jotform and must admit that I have had to search for several answers to issues/questions. The responses to users questions and the user guide have been a life-saver! I'm so glad I chose Jotform for this project simply because of the outstanding customer support.

Now for the problem I haven't been able to resolve.

First, I created a "main" form consisting of basic identifying member information  (name, address, email, etc). Next, I created three additional forms for members to select (1 or more) applicable forms to make sale entries. Then I inserted a drop-down box, listed the three entry forms, set conditions, and used Iframe Embed to put these three forms on my "main" form. (That was a lot for my first attempt at Jotforms!)

My embedded forms each have submit buttons, but my main form did not, so I was researching how to get a user back to the main form and submit identifying information after completing any (or all) of the embedded entry forms. I wanted to save the user the redundancy of filling out name, address, etc on ALL 3 forms by collecting that on the "main" page. But after further reading, it sounds like the three embedded forms will each be a standalone submission that will not actually be associated with the main form. Therefore, the problem, I believe, is that I did not include any personal identifying information fields on those forms.

So....in order to know who is submitting those embedded forms, do I need to edit them to include name, address, etc and delete those fields from my main form and not even have a "submit" button for that form? Or is there a way to collect the main form information and have it associated with the embedded entry forms they submit?

    Thanks so much!!!

Please take note that the main form + 3 iframe embedded forms are all separate forms.

All the forms will have separate submission data.

From what I see in your form design, you will not be able to get any data from the main form since it does not submit (no Submit button). So all those fields in the main form will not be captured in any way.

As for the 3 embedded forms, since each are different forms, submitting them will result to separate submission data for each.

Take note also that submitting the 3 embedded forms will not include the main form (no submission trigger for main form)

If you want to capture the data from the main form, you will need to have those fields in the main form to be in the 3 embedded forms as well. This way when the embedded form/s is submitted, it will include the maind data you wanted to capture from the main form.

I hope help. Let us know if you require further assistance.

Thank you very much!! I started to suspect that was the case, I just wish I had realized this from the beginning...but now I know.

    Appreciate your response.
