Hello - until quite recently, I was able to create multiple choice options and add an hyperlink and also an asterisk to make it field look like it was mandatory (I have hidden the label.)
For example - I accept the place offered and I agree to comply with all policies and practices.<strong><span style="color:#ff0000;">*</span></strong>
The coloured asterisk doesn't show through now even on the URL. Any ideas? Was this option removed?

Yes, adding HTML tags to radio/checkbox buttons option is removed for security reasons.
I'm afraid that there are no alternatives.
If you just need to make the field required (so it looks required as well) you can use that option in the field itself:
