Is it possible to send an automated response mail with Encryption enabled?

dear, 

If I set the setting on for Encrypted form response. 

Than I will get a notification mail. But the email for automated response email to the filled in field of the form will not be send? 

If I turn the setting for ecnrypted form respons off. The automated response email will work again. 

why is that? and is it possible to send an automated response mail with encryption on?
