Paypal: Pass custom value from field to PayPal

Hello,

On the PayPal donation form, I noticed that the value under Payment Box Sub Label is passed to PayPal as the item description. I have a form where users can choose a group that they would like to donate to from a drop down box and then choose the amount they would like to donate. How do I pass the value from the drop down box to the Payment Box Sub Label.



I downloaded the code and added javascripts to add the text under the box dynamically but they are not passed to PayPal.

If you add a text field to your form you can pass that field to your payment integration.

Thanks for your response. I added the field as described by you and the data from that does not carry over as the line item to PayPal. As this is a donation transaction it still carries the Payment Box Sub Label as the value. Where is the data from this field you mentioned being carried over into Paypal?

Sorry for the confusion. I thought you wanted to pass a custom message to your Paypal transaction. I see now this is not the case.

You would like to transfer the amount from your single choice field to Paypal right?

To do this we must use a form calculation widget. Search for it on the left and drag it onto your form.

Then click on the wizard (magic wand icon) and add the "choose donation amount" field.

Now open your Paypal transaction and where it says "Payment Type" select "User defined amount". And where it says "Get price from" select your form calculation widget.
