Emails: Conditional email

I set up a condition to send an email when the state entered is "Illinois" and one for "California". When I do so, I am required to put in at least one email address.

In the "Email Notifications" section, I also put in the recipient email addresses.

There was a discrepancy between these two lists (3 addresses in the former; one in the latter), and the "Conditions" list took precedence.

Issue: why am I required to enter the emails in both places? If I am not, what am I doing wrong.  (Tried to attach a jpeg screen print, but submit kept failing)  thanks.

If you setup a default notification email (or autoresponder) it will send to the supplied recipient on submission.

If you setup a condition it is possible to change the recipient of the default notification. In this instance it will not send it to the default recipient. It will send it to the recipient specified in the condition. It basically overrides the default recipient address.
