Zoho integration is not working on my Form

Asked by mmaddux on October 06, 2012 at 01:12 AM

Unfortunately, I'm not having any luck getting the Zoho integration to work. The form submission data just isn't passing through to Zoho. I built the form, connected with the Zoho Integration, matched up my fields and no data transfers to Zoho.

One area I'm confused about is the fullname field. Zoho has first and last name fields. Are these pre-programmed to automatically integrate?

    Hi,

We are terribly sorry to hear that. Have you tried removing your form's current integration to Zoho and redoing it? If not, please do, then get back to us if it produces the same result.

We will gladly await your updates.

After a live chat session with Neil from JotForm, and a lot of trouble shooting, I've discovered the problem and it is probably something everyone testing the ZohoCRM integration should know.  If you already have an e-mail address as a Zoho contact or account and are using that same e-mail address to test if leads will appear in Zoho using your newly created JotForm, they won't, hence, the red alert.  The reason this won't work is because the e-mail address is already in the system.  The problem with the way it currently works is that if an old contact fills out a new lead form, you'll never know so you'll never get back to them.

On the flip side, if you are using an e-mail address to test with, and another lead exists with that same e-mail but it is not used within a contact or account, then the lead will update itself instead of create a duplicate lead which is kind of useful (as long as it moves the existing lead to the top of the list).

Any response from JotForm on the logic behind this would be useful.  Thank you for a great product.

Can you keep me posted on what you plan to do with the fact that new leads aren't accepted by the CRM if they are from an e-mail address already in the database? The real world problem with this is that we won't know the old customer tried to contact us.  Zoho has a merge feature so having the lead show up wouldn't be a bad thing.

So after testing, this is the nature of our integration as it stands.

    Contacts.

Contacts will be added when form is submitted.

Contact will be edited when it encounters an existing email address - will not change the position in the listing

Contact will be added if e-mail is different even if other fields of the contact are the same (name / phone number, etc)

Basicly, the e-mail address has an ID nature in this listings.

    Leads.

Leads will be added when form is submitted.

Leads will be edited when it encounters an existing email address - will not change the position in the listing

Leads will be added if e-mail is different even if other fields of the contact are the same (name / phone number, etc)

Basicly, the e-mail address has an ID nature in this listings.

    Possible suggestion:

To see recent changes on your list, you can add the following columns to your view on your Zoho CRM

I hope this information is helpfull.  Please let us know if you need further assistance!
